Silvery Village Senior Project

We developed a plant therapy program for elderly residents at Silvery Village experiencing symptoms of depression and dementia. The program combined gardening activities with sensory engagement and social interaction to stimulate cognitive function and emotional well-being. Participants showed increased alertness, reduced anxiety, and greater participation in daily activities, demonstrating the therapeutic potential of nature-based care in senior communities. To extend the project’s impact, we sold the cultivated plants through a student-led fundraiser, generating $300, which was donated back to support the residents’ welfare and program sustainability.
